Rāgassa abhiññāya Sutta
— For the direct knowledge of lust —

Five things to be practiced for the direct knowledge of rāga.

“rāgassa, bhikkhave, abhiññāya pañca dhammā bhāvetabbā. katame pañca? asubhasaññā, maraṇasaññā, ādīnavasaññā, āhāre paṭikūlasaññā, sabbaloke anabhiratasaññā. rāgassa, bhikkhave, abhiññāya ime pañca dhammā bhāvetabbā”ti.

Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge of lust, five things should be developped. Which five? The perception of unattractiveness, the perception of death, the perception of drawbacks, the perception of loathsomeness in food, and the perception of distaste for the entire world. For the direct knowledge of lust, bhikkhus, these five things should be developped.
