Ajjhattaṃ arūpasaññī, bahiddhā rūpāni passati. Ayaṃ dutiyo vimokkho.

Not perceiving rūpa internally, one sees rūpas externally. This is the second vimokkha.

Having completely gone beyond rūpa-saññā, the saññā of repulsion having disappeared, not attending to the saññā of diversity, [perceiving:] 'space [is] infinite', having entered ākās·ānañc·āyatana, one dwells therein. This is the fourth vimokkha.

Sabbaso ākāsānañcāyatanaṃ samatikkamma ‘anantaṃ viññāṇa’nti viññāṇañcāyatanaṃ upasampajja viharati. Ayaṃ pañcamo vimokkho.

Having completely gone beyond ākās·ānañc·āyatana, [perceiving:] 'viññāṇa [is] infinite' having entered viññāṇañc·āyatana he dwells therein. This is the fifth vimokkha.

Sabbaso viññāṇañcāyatanaṃ samatikkamma ‘natthi kiñcī’ti ākiñcaññāyatanaṃ upasampajja viharati. Ayaṃ chaṭṭho vimokkho.

Having completely gone beyond viññāṇañc·āyatana, [perceiving:] 'there is no-thing', having entered ākiñcaññ·āyatana he dwells therein. This is the sixth vimokkha.

Sabbaso ākiñcaññāyatanaṃ samatikkamma nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṃ upasampajja viharati. Ayaṃ sattamo vimokkho.

Having completely gone beyond ākiñcaññ·āyatana, having entered neva-saññā-n·āsaññ·āyatana, he dwells therein. This is the seventh vimokkha.

Sabbaso nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṃ samatikkamma saññāvedayitanirodhaṃ upasampajja viharati. Ayaṃ aṭṭhamo vimokkho.

Having completely gone beyond neva-saññā-n·āsaññ·āyatana having entered the nirodha of saññā and vedanā, he dwells therein. This is the eighth vimokkha.
